Projects
Available translational research projects are industry-driven and involve close collaborations with clinicians. These projects are aimed at commercialisation and impact clinical practice. Students will receive strong multi-disciplinary support and significant opportunities to publish and present nationally and internationally for industry and academia. Many have direct high-end working opportunities immediately after. Working at the pulse of technology and innovation, we use the latest technology to drive cardiovascular medicine of the future.
Fundamental research projects are available as well. These present the opportunity to impact many fields with a wide outreach. Supervisory teams are collaborative and complementary to allow you to excel.
Final year research students, PhD and Postdoctoral fellows across engineering, medicine and computer sciences work closely on different aspects of core projects listed below. These can be computational, experimental or both. See our list of recent publications. Not all available projects are listed. Interested candidates are encouraged to enquire if the general topic area is of interest.
Core research themes
Machine learning for preventive cardiovascular medicine
Automated modelling framework for large-scale population analysis
Virtual reality for real-life surgery
Experimental modelling with artificial beating hearts
Next-generation stent design
Micro- and Biofluidics cutting-edge teaching
Funding
Various funding options are available, from direct grant-funded to supervisor-funded or supported through a competitive scholarship. There are many scholarships opportunities available.
